What’s your summer-beauty philosophy? Do you stock your regimen with items trending on TikTok, handpicked by your go-to influencers and celebrities? Do you revisit last year’s lineup and rely on the tried-and-true classics? An “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy never steered you wrong.
Or perhaps you meld the two philosophies together, which is our approach. What makes a well-stacked routine is a combination of old, new, and old made new: products that consider the latest technologies, ingredient innovations, and general trend cycles and make achieving the look du jour a simple feat.
But before we send you over to your favorite retailer with our warm-weather recommendations, we thought we’d go straight to the source to get the inside scoop on what our merchandising and director friends deem bestsellers in the making. Taking cues from customer interest, viral trends, and breakthrough new arrivals, retail experts have developed a keen eye for what’ll be the next big thing. What will resonate most in summer 2025? Here is what our experts predict will be this season’s top-selling beauty products; shop them before they inevitably sell out.
Bluemercury
“The Bluemercury customer is always interested in looking and feeling their best,” Leigh Quilhot, managing director of merchandising at Bluemercury, tells Vogue. “They are knowledgeable about ingredients and are looking for clinically proven results.” And this summer they’re gravitating toward floral and fruity scents, soft feminine colors, peptide serums, and natural body care by way of recent debuts by Parfums de Marly, SkinCeuticals, Oribe, and Victoria Beckham.
The Best-Seller Predictions:
- The Vanilla Perfume: Parfums de Marly Valaya Exclusif Parfum, $410
- The Liquid Botox: SkinCeuticals P-Tiox, $148
- The Makeup Brush: Victoria Beckham Beauty Buffer Brush, $60
- The Hair Gloss: Oribe Mirror Rinse Glass Hair Treatment, $64
- The Tinted Lip Balm: Sisley Paris Phyto-Lip Balm, $67
Nordstrom
“When spring and summer arrive, the layers come off, not just in clothes but in makeup too,” Nordstrom’s beauty director, Autumne West, spills. “We may opt for that tinted moisturizer versus a foundation plus moisturizer. What changes over the years are the trends, but seasons of change are constant.” Right now she’s paying particular interest to the lip and blush spaces that she says “just won’t stop” innovating, alongside vanilla scents that pair nicely with fresh berry notes to add dimension to the summertime classic.
The Best-Seller Predictions:
- The Lip Plumper: YSL Beauty Loveshine Plumping Lip Oil Gloss, $40
- The Powder Blush: Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Powder Blush Duo, $75
- The Fruity Floral: Chanel Chance Eau Splendide Eau de Parfum, $143
- The Lip Hydrator: The Outset Lip Oasis Glossy Treatment, $28
Dermstore
At Dermstore, skin tech leads the charge for summer bestsellers. “From LED masks to sculpting tools and next-generation laser technology, these innovations are redefining at-home skin care, which is no longer niche, it’s essential, and our customers are fully here for it,” details Billie Faricy-Hyett, the chief buying officer of THG Beauty. “With growing consumer confidence in treatments like LED light therapy and microcurrent stimulation, beauty routines are becoming smarter, more targeted, and deeply results driven.” Cosmetic formulas are getting more intelligent too; the retailer is seeing lip treatments and topicals that mimic in-office results rise to the forefront, alongside skin-care-makeup hybrids that fuse two categories into one. “People are busy and are looking for maximum results with minimum steps,” says Faricy-Hyett.
The Best-Seller Predictions:
- The LED Face Mask: Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask, $350
- The Growth-Factor Serum: Bioeffect EGF Serum, $219
- The Sun-Kissed Blush: Perricone MD No Makeup Blush, $39
- The Hair Perfume: Moroccanoil Hair and Body Fragrance Mist, $32
- The Skin Supplement: Dr. Whitney Bowe Beauty Night Mode, $35
Sephora
Turning to Sephora, beauty director Melina Solares considers how creators and celebrities will influence this summer’s must-haves. “Social media continues to have a huge influence on consumer interest these days, especially with festival season upon us,” she says. “There is an abundance of celebrity beauty content flowing with each music festival, and everyone is eager to come up with the next new beauty trend.” From there, she points toward minimalist makeup, hair art, fragrance layering, and cold-cream cleansers as spaces to watch.
The Best-Seller Predictions:
- The Dark-Spot Corrector: Dr. Idriss Major Fade Dark Spot Starter Kit, $55
- The Glossy Highlighter: Tower 28 SuperDew Shimmer-Free Highlight Balm, $18
- The Weightless Gel: Crown Affair The Flexible Hold Finishing Hair Gel, $42
- The Lip Stain: Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil Stain, $22
Violet Grey
Summer’s key buys, according to Violet Code manager Tanner Riley, are all about investing in quality that simplifies your life long-term—i.e., products that enhance your daily ritual today and tomorrow. “Consumers, our community, continue to become more educated,” Riley says. “They are aware of what is innovative versus marketing. This is not a new trend but one that continues to grow and is top of mind as we add to our curation. We are seeing our customers increasingly interested and investing in in-office treatments and procedures, along with a focus on skin care to complement.” To suit, their top buys are as inventive as they come, from an innovative curly-hair detangler to an actually-sheer mineral sunscreen.
The Best-Seller Predictions:
- The Perfume Oil: Perfumehead Room No. Roll-On Perfume Oil Extract, $115
